10 Million Dram Payment and 1 Month of Service Proposal Unacceptable to Defense Ministry, Deputy Minister
During a briefing with journalists, Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan addressed the legislative proposal by MP Haik Sargsyan from the 'My Step' faction, which suggests paying 10 million drams to serve for 1 month. He stated that the Ministry of Defense actively studies international practices within its jurisdiction on a daily basis.
“We do not find that the international experience referenced is applicable in Armenia; Armenia operates under unique conditions, and we cannot simply take something out of context and apply it,” said the deputy minister, adding that the Ministry is open to discussions. “We will implement any good practice, but what Mr. Sargsyan has proposed is completely unacceptable for us,” he emphasized.
