Ministry of Defense Strongly Condemns Recruit's Behavior and Calls for Prudence
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has strongly condemned the behavior displayed by a recruit on December 4 at the Yerevan Military Commissariat No. 1, calling on recruits and citizens to refrain from exhibiting similar unlawful conduct, especially during the nationwide conscription process. This call for prudence has been posted on the official website of the Ministry of Defense.
It is worth noting that on December 4, an employee of the No. 1 Military Commissariat reported to the police station in Mashtots that a recruit had attacked him at the commissariat. The recruit subsequently fled the scene.
Thanks to joint efforts of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense and the criminal investigation department of the Mashtots Police Station, the identity of the recruit who assaulted the commissariat employee has been established. Following explanatory work by law enforcement agencies, the recruit voluntarily presented himself to the Mashtots Police Station and confessed to the act. “This is the second such incident in the last 10 days,” informed Karen Hovhannisyan, the deputy military commissioner of the Yerevan No. 1 Military Commissariat.
