Demands for the Dismissal of the Director of Dilijan National Park
The 'Dingo Team' NGO has issued a statement, which is also supported by Aurora Media.
The statement specifically mentions:
“Dear relevant authorities, the director of the ‘Dilijan’ National Park, Suren Agajanyan, recently shot and killed a 'personal' dog on the grounds of his own restaurant, which had newborn puppies. The incident occurred in the presence of witnesses and was allegedly carried out by a group of men (presumably premeditated). Cruelty to animals is prohibited under Article 258.2 of the Criminal Code. We note that Agajanyan has been interrogated, but no charges have yet been filed.
Agajanyan's own business, the Getap Hotel and Restaurant Complex, is largely made of wood, which is quite strange considering his position. We DEMAND that the investigation be conducted impartially and not with a ‘he won't go to jail for just shooting a dog’ attitude. We DEMAND his immediate dismissal from the position of director of ‘Dilijan’ National Park, as a person who shoots his own dog with newborn puppies cannot possess the necessary moral and environmental qualities to preserve the national park. Having such a person in such a position is a disgrace to our entire country and environmental protection.”
