Operator of AntiFake.am Website Detained
AntiFake.am has issued a statement indicating that the operator of the website, Ishkhan Khosrovyan, has been detained by the police. It is noteworthy that members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Youth were demanding a meeting with Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan in front of the ministry's building.
Subsequently, police forces detained 24 individuals and took them to the Central Police Station, citing non-compliance with a lawful demand from the police as defined by Article 182 of the Administrative Offenses Code.
The full statement is as follows:
The police have detained Ishkhan Khosrovyan, the operator of AntiFake.am. At the time of detention, the operator was wearing the appropriate operator badge. Upon realizing this at the police station, the officers returned Khosrovyan to the location from where he was detained. This is an evident illegal action aimed at obstructing the proper implementation of professional activities. Old practices persist in the police, hindering the work of journalists and operators covering incidents.
