What Will the Main Christmas Tree Look Like This Year?

For the second day now, the installation of the main Christmas tree has begun in the capital. Last year, a new tree was erected in Yerevan. The spokesperson for the Yerevan mayor, Hakob Karaaetian, reported that there will be no changes to the appearance of the tree: “We said last year that this tree is for several years, but the square and adjacent areas will have a very luxurious and completely new design.”

Additional funds will only be spent for the erection of the tree; no separate allocations are planned. It should be noted that based on the Government's decision, 271 million drams will be allocated for the implementation of the “New Year 2020” events in Yerevan. Karapetyan informed that the new decorations in the square will be realized with these funds and those already allocated from the Yerevan budget.
