Tragedy Strikes in Tavush Province as Young Man Dies from Logging Accident Injuries

On November 29, a tragic incident occurred in Tavush Province. Around 10:40 AM, the police station in Ijevan received a call from the Ijevan Medical Center reporting that a young man had been brought in deceased from the village of Gandzakar.

The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Sasha Martirosyan, a resident of the same village. Investigators from the Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee, led by Senior Investigator Tamazyan, determined that on the same day, the deceased had gone to the 'Bdulgahanut' area of the Gandzakar Timber Management, along with fellow villagers 32-year-old Andranik Petrosyan and 32-year-old Karen Matinyan.

While there, Martirosyan was using a chainsaw to fell a tree when a large tree fell on his head, resulting in fatal injuries. At the scene, police and investigators also found iron cables and a fallen thick tree, which bore blood-like traces.
