Ashot Ghulyan as Candidate for President of Artsakh
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports that on November 30, the Democratic Party of Artsakh will hold a congress where the party leader and Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament, Ashot Ghulyan, will be nominated as a presidential candidate. The congress will also discuss the party's participation in the parliamentary elections.
The Democratic Party of Artsakh was founded in 2000 as a political support for then-President Arkadi Ghukasian, but has lost its political influence since his resignation. With only a 20% presence in the parliament, the president of the Democratic Party was elected as the speaker purely through intra-government negotiations.
More details can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
