The Authorities Failed to Prove My Guilt: Arsen Babayan
Former Deputy Head of the Staff of the National Assembly of Armenia, Arsen Babayan, held a press conference today after his release from detention, stating that having spent 22 days in custody, he was deprived of contact with all relatives and acquaintances.
Babayan mentioned that the authorities could not prove his guilt, which led to his release. He stated, "The authorities had a problem of saving face," and added that by unlawfully depriving him of his right to meet with relatives, the head of the Special Investigative Service later claimed it was a misunderstanding. However, he noted that such misunderstandings do not occur without specific assignments, and therefore, those responsible should be punished.
