During My Tenure, Gyumri Was the City with the Least Criminal Offenses: Ghukasian
The former mayor of Gyumri and member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Vardan Ghukasian, discussed his time as mayor in a conversation with journalists today. He emphasized that according to statistics, during that period, Gyumri was the city with the least criminal offenses in the Republic of Armenia.
"During my tenure, the entire city was united, we had so much respect that if young people had issues among themselves, I would intercede and say, 'Forgive each other, be united, stay strong,' and the neighborhoods maintained friendly relations with one another. Unfortunately, some individuals did not want the city to be so united, where the people would follow such a person because they are afraid of those whom the people love; they work hard to defame, stone, kill, and humiliate them—it’s all about keeping those under them at bay," he stated.
