Tsolakyan Proposes to Dispatch Rescue Forces to Iran's Earthquake Zone
Following the powerful earthquake recorded in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan had a phone conversation with the Deputy Ambassador of Iran to Armenia, Ali Mohammad Motaghi, and asked him to convey his condolences and words of consolation to the friendly people of Iran, the relatives of the victims, and wished a swift recovery to the injured.
During the phone conversation with Ali Mohammad Motaghi, Felix Tsolakyan proposed to dispatch rescue forces to the disaster area, as well as provide other necessary assistance.
It is noteworthy that on November 8, at 02:47 local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 occurred 45 km south of the city of Ardabil, Iran, resulting in casualties and injuries. The earthquake was also felt in the Armenian towns of Kapan, Meghri, and Goris in the Syunik Province with a magnitude of 4, and in the towns of Yeghgnadzor and Vayk in the Vayots Dzor Province with a magnitude of 3-4, as well as in Ararat and Yerevan with a magnitude of 3.
