41 Victims and Survivors of March 1 Events Compensated
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports: In response to our inquiry, the Ministry of Justice of Armenia has announced that compensation has been provided to the heirs of 10 individuals who died during the dispersal of protests related to the presidential election results on February 19, 2008. Each heir received 30 million dram.
Additionally, 6 individuals have been recognized as suffering from serious bodily harm, and according to the law, they were paid 15 million dram each, while 25 others were recognized as having sustained moderate injuries, receiving 5 million dram each. Furthermore, 15 claims were rejected, and 7 claims are still under discussion.
It is noteworthy that the government allocated 720 million dram for this purpose.
