We Want to See the Republic of Armenia as an Engineering Country: Nikol Pashinyan

The activities of "Synopsys Armenia," celebrating its 15th anniversary, align with the aspirations and efforts of the Armenian government, which aims to see Armenia as an engineering nation and a hub for intellectual activity and technology. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of "Synopsys Armenia," after presenting awards to the best students and pupils in the IT sector.

"I congratulate not only 'Synopsys Armenia' but all of us, the Republic of Armenia, because I believe that the entry of such companies into Armenia is very significant for all of us. Although this company's entry was 15 years ago, it coincides with the aspirations and activities of our government. We want to see the Republic of Armenia as an engineering country and a technological nation of engineering thought," said the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan emphasized the new culture of work and the new dynamics in employer-employee relationships that have been introduced in Armenia. He considers the entry of such companies and the overall influx of technology firms to be crucial for shaping the Armenian citizen.

A very important process of forming a sovereign citizen is taking place. For this, a very important financial and economic foundation is being established, where the worker, unlike in old systems, is not dependent on the company or the employer. The worker is not forced to sometimes sacrifice their views, political, and civic positions for the alternative of having or not having a job. The development of the technology sector is very important from this perspective. If such issues arise in any company, there is a 100 percent probability that the specialist will quickly find at least a similar job in a similar company and definitely will not join the ranks of the unemployed.

In this regard, the work of 'Synopsys Armenia' is very important, said the Prime Minister, adding that the company is among the leaders in its field in Armenia.

According to Pashinyan, the formation of such companies and professionals in Armenia has led to political changes. He noted that these individuals have played a truly leading role in the development of civil society and new ways of thinking in Armenia.

Pashinyan emphasized that the most important condition for progress is the formation of demand for knowledge. He considered the best students and awardees in the IT sector to be the frontrunners in forming that demand. In the Prime Minister's view, knowledge and skills are about expanding and increasing the limits of what is possible. He noted that these awardees are indeed engaged in extending the boundaries of possibility.

"The mission of expanding the limits of possibility should become a state, public, and popular mission. By expanding the limits of possibility, we expand the borders of our country, the boundaries of our opportunities, and the vision of the future for our people," Pashinyan stressed.

He recalled that it was often discussed what would happen when foreign companies operate in Armenia and engage the youth in their work. "I absolutely cannot accept the stance that in any way tries to oppose knowledge, enlightenment, skills, and development to national identity," he said, expressing his conviction that the victory of intellect in Armenia is irreversible.
