International Community Makes Indifferent Statements After Every Azerbaijani Provocation

According to the newspaper 'Joghout', the international community has made it a practice to issue vague statements after every Azerbaijani provocation, often failing to respond or providing cursory formalities that resemble a reaction.

It is worth recalling that the latest Azerbaijani aggression against the Armenian borders and the residents of Tavush occurred immediately after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide. On the night of October 29-30, Azerbaijan shelled peaceful settlements and positions in the Tavush region.

The spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defense stated that it cannot be excluded that this provocation by Azerbaijan is linked to the passage of resolution number 296 in the U.S. House of Representatives. How does the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing United States evaluate Azerbaijan’s provocative attitudes? In response to the newspaper's question, the U.S. ambassador to Armenia, Lynne Tracy, stated, 'The United States, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, remains committed to its strong pledge to assist the parties in achieving a just and peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The embassy fully agrees with the statements made by the Minsk Group co-chairs, which call on the parties to strictly adhere to the ceasefire and refrain from provocative actions. There is no military solution to this conflict. Demonstrating restraint is crucial to maintaining the environment conducive to progress in peace and settlement negotiations.'

What does the CSTO, considered a guarantor of stability and security, think about this? Konstantin Zatulin, a deputy in the State Duma of Russia, another co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, said yesterday to Armenian media that Armenia has not appealed to the CSTO regarding the shelling of its territory. He emphasized that Russia considers Armenia its ally and is ready to implement CSTO mechanisms for its protection in the case of real threats. 'I would like to remind you that the 102nd Russian military base is located in Armenia, which is not here by coincidence,' Zatulin concluded.
