Iravunk: What Was the Corruption-Discontented Leader Doing to Address It?
The "Iravunk" newspaper writes: "Although former head of the Cadastre Committee Sarhat Petrosyan claimed in his resignation statement that he was tired of corrupt clan politics, our information suggests that during his tenure, he hardly did anything to address corruption and illegality.
"A large number of citizens have approached the Cadastre Committee regarding land that was illegally seized, effectively taken by force. They personally met with Sarhat Petrosyan, but he did not take any action to address or resolve their issues. He made no effort to change anything in the cadastral maps or in the forged documents," said our source from Iravunk.
It is unclear on what grounds the head of the Oversight Department was dismissed during Sarhat Petrosyan’s tenure, as he had a reputation as a diligent and caring worker. "The real reason for the dismissal of the department head remains unclear to everyone, but the fact that he was helping all citizens and providing accurate documents is indisputable," our source assured us.
