Restoration Works of 'Yerevan's Thickets' to Begin Soon: Eduard Aghajanyan
Today, we discussed with the Minister of Environment Eric Grigoryan the possibilities of afforesting the desolate areas located at the intersection of Norq-Marash administrative district and Sari Tagh. This was stated by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Eduard Aghajanyan on his Facebook page.
He particularly noted: "You are probably all aware that until the 1990s, this area was covered by dense forest, which was referred to by Yerevan residents as 'Yerevan's Thickets.' I am pleased to report that the restoration works of 'Yerevan's Thickets' will soon begin. According to the agreement, today a draft governmental decision will be put into circulation to allocate funds for the development of design and costing documents for this project. This will assess the feasibility of implementing a drip irrigation system in the area and its financial evaluation. By the way, this decision should be viewed as part of the 10 million tree planting program announced by the Prime Minister of Armenia in 2019."
