Trump Keeps U.S. Forces in Syria for Specific Purpose

The U.S. military will continue to remain in Syria to protect oil fields from ISIS militants. This was stated by Donald Trump on Twitter.

“The oil fields were being held by those militants until the United States reclaimed them with the help of the Kurds,” Trump wrote. “We will never allow ISIS fighters to regroup and take back that area,” he added.

Previously, Pentagon chief Mark Esper had announced the possibility of maintaining a small U.S. military presence in northeastern Syria to protect oil fields and combat remaining militants.
