The Chief of Police Staff Dismissed from Position: 'Pastinfo'
Dismissals continue within the police force. According to 'Pastinfo', the Deputy Chief of Police and Chief of Police Staff, Hovhannes Kocharyan, has been dismissed from his position.
Kocharyan was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Police on May 19, 2018, by Police Chief Valery Osipyan.
It is worth noting that yesterday, Hovhannes Kocharyan stated that he was opposed to making the position of Police Chief political. "The police's opinion does not coincide with that of the project's authors. We have our own perspective regarding the organization and operation of the Police, and after the publication of the strategic program, everyone will be able to familiarize themselves with it. We have elaborated in detail how we envision the structure of the Police and how we imagine the mechanisms of political oversight over it," Kocharyan said.
According to him, the project is conditioned by political expediency, providing situational solutions.
