Upcoming Serbian Delegation to Visit Armenia to Explore Cooperation Opportunities

During a working visit to Japan, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić today. The Armenian President assessed the recent official visit to Serbia as effective and highlighted the practical agreements reached.

He welcomed the Serbian side's decisions to abolish visa requirements for citizens of the Republic of Armenia and to open Serbia's embassy in Armenia, noting that these are important steps towards strengthening the relations between the two countries.

President Sarkissian and Prime Minister Brnabić reaffirmed the agreements reached in Belgrade, specifically discussing the intention to hold the Armenian 'Sevan Startup' festival alongside the annual EXIT music festival in Novi Sad, as well as cooperation in the field of information technology.

Prime Minister Brnabić announced that a Serbian delegation would soon visit Armenia to explore avenues of collaboration and potential projects.

Furthermore, the Serbian Prime Minister informed that on October 25, she would sign an agreement regarding a free trade zone between Serbia and the Eurasian Economic Union in Moscow. 'I am glad that this will occur during Armenia's presidency in the EEU,' emphasized President Sarkissian, expressing confidence that it will create new trade opportunities for both Armenia and Serbia.
