Makuunts: We Will Discuss Why This Happened Regarding the Secret Salary Increases

Leader of the "My Step" faction Lilith Makuunts will soon discuss with the government the circumstances under which it was decided that the salaries of ministers and deputy ministers should be secretly increased.

Today, Makuunts stated this in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

Yesterday, "Hetq" reported that the salaries of ministers, deputy ministers, and chief secretaries of ministries have significantly increased under a secret directive from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"I am not aware if the government has responded as to why this was done secretly. I am also not aware of why the government decided to increase the salaries of ministers and deputy ministers in a confidential manner. We need to get clarification on why this procedure was followed," said Makuunts.

She noted that she has often spoken about salary increases in the public administration system and has stated that officials should receive higher salaries. As for why the executive made such a decision under the principle of secrecy, according to Makuunts, clarifications will be provided after the discussion.

It is noteworthy that according to "Hetq," Pashinyan issued the directive for salary increases in July.
