Former Minister Arrested
Today, the Court of Appeals has overturned the decision of the first instance court to release former Minister of Transport and Communications Gurgen Sargsyan on bail, who is a defendant in the 'North-South' case. The decision of the first instance court was appealed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
It is to be noted that during the criminal investigation launched over apparent abuses related to the development and implementation of the 'North-South Road Corridor' project, Gurgen Sargsyan has been charged under Article 38-189, part 3; Article 38-190, part 3, point 1; and Article 38-205, part 2 of the Criminal Code.
