One Day You Will Be Underneath: Armen Ashotyan Addresses Nikol Pashinyan and Ararat Mirzoyan
Armen Ashotyan, the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, wrote on his Facebook page: "I direct my words to Nikol Pashinyan and Ararat Mirzoyan: Your condemnation of the despicable actions of your mandate colleague and gray-haired teammate, Arpine Hovhannisyan, was initially in the moral realm. A realm where right and wrong are issues governed by numerous unwritten laws. Laws for which the punishment for violation is not criminal or administrative; it is public and not subject to various tricks, political fakes, or the flimsy arguments of certain randomly elected representatives with unknown political backgrounds.
This is why public opinion has been boiling for the second day, especially after today’s unfortunate remarks by this subject. Several representatives of the ruling power are attempting to shift the issue into the political arena to justify their colleague's vile words. This is the same arena they used to justify attacks on our homes and families, the coffins and wreaths, the black ribbons, and the immoral materials about my being 'Azerbaijani.'
However, know well that this is yet another unfortunate attempt at distorting reality because the issue is absolutely not political, and Sassoun Mikayelyan proved that today. In the civil-political realm, you have long brought the situation to its lowest point, and now you have a unique opportunity to use this scandal to cleanse the disgusting atmosphere prevailing in the country. For that, at least one of you must harshly condemn what has occurred or give a legal resolution to this issue in the National Assembly by establishing an Ethics Committee.
The ball is in your court, gentlemen. Do not create an unacceptable precedent; one day you will be underneath."
