Georgian Prime Minister to Announce Resignation Today
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze will make an announcement today, September 2, about his resignation from the position of head of the government. This was reported by Gazeta.ru.
The announcement is expected at 16:00 Yerevan time.
According to unconfirmed reports, Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia will replace Bakhtadze as Prime Minister. Irakli Garibashvili is set to return to the position of Interior Minister.
The discussion of personnel changes in the government will continue on Tuesday, as stated by the leader of the parliamentary majority, Gia Volski, after the end of a parliamentary majority meeting on Sunday.
