We Cannot Talk About Tens of Millions of Dollars, Says Gagik Khachatryan's Defender

Searches have been conducted since the morning at the residence of Gagik Khachatryan in Tsaghkadzor. This was stated by Gagik Khachatryan's lawyer, Yerem Sargsyan, during a conversation with reporters. According to him, only legal weapons were found at the home, which have been confiscated.

Speaking about the arrest, Yerem Sargsyan noted that the suspicion relates to actions taken at the State Revenue Committee (SRC) during Khachatryan's tenure as its head. “There are certain circumstances indicating that some employees of the SRC did not attend work but received salaries; now it must be clarified what connection Gagik Khachatryan has with this, as it involves an entire large system. If we are talking about SRC employees' salaries, we cannot talk about tens of millions of dollars,” he said, adding that the criminal case is extensive and he may still be unaware of many details, as the investigation is confidential.
