Husband Dismantles Another's Grave, Moves Remains to Another Cemetery, Telling His Wife He Found Her Mother's Grave
Materials are being prepared in the investigative department of a territorial division of the police in one of the regions of the Republic based on the statement of 35-year-old Artur M. from Yerevan.
According to Shamshyan.com, he reported to the territorial police that from July of this year until August 12, Shogik and Gago dismantled the burial sites of his deceased grandmother, Astghik P., and grandfather, Agasi M., in their village cemetery and moved the remains to the territory of the Red Hill cemetery in Yerevan.
Artur M. also informed the police that they had desecrated the graves of his deceased relatives. According to sources, Artur mentioned that he had not previously contacted the police because Shogik and Gago had promised to return the remains and restore the grave to its original condition, but they did not fulfill their promise.
The local police discovered Shogik and Gago, who were summoned to the police station. Gago told the police that his wife had been "consuming his life" for more than a year, asking, "Why can't you find my mother's grave?" He added, "I was forced to go to that village, learned that the grave hadn't been visited for a long time, and dismantled it, moving one of the deceased's remains to Red Hill, telling my wife that I had brought her mother's bones."
