“Politics is the ability to make reasoned decisions without unnecessary emotions in difficult situations. The operation of any mine has certain negative repercussions. The question is to what extent these can be managed; the current legislation allows for preventive measures to be taken at any moment in case of any deviation, and furthermore, further tightenings are expected soon.

Currently, there is no basis for not operating the mine, apart from the fact that none of us wants a new mine opened. However, there are grounds to take quick preventive measures in case of potential problems.

Many of my friends may not understand me, but believe me, before any complex decision, I think about what my future children and grandchildren will say to me years from now and how I will justify my actions. Let’s step out of the realm of emotions and accusations and move towards facts and discourses.”
