Zelensky Instructs to Ease Citizenship Granting Process for Russians
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed the government to prepare a bill aimed at simplifying the procedure for granting Ukrainian citizenship to Russians. According to RIA Novosti, the decree published on the president's official website states that this applies to individuals who have been "persecuted for political beliefs."
Furthermore, the decree indicates that the simplified process will also extend to foreigners and stateless persons who have participated in "ensuring Ukraine's national security and defense." The government is required to make the review of applications from Russians more efficient and to expedite the decision-making process.
