One of Our Friends Was "Slammed to the Asphalt" at Night: R. Kocharyan's Supporter
Today, supporters of Robert Kocharyan presented their demands to the Supreme Judicial Council. After the presentation, one of R. Kocharyan's supporters, Vahe Yeprikyan, stated that he spent the entire night in the police station because two of their supporters, Arshak Sargsyan and Armenak Danielyan, were unjustly detained yesterday.
“In Ajapnyak, around 3 a.m., one of our friends was ‘slammed to the asphalt’ and taken to the police station. The problem is that on the days leading up to and following our protests, that is, on the days when some event is supposed to happen and when we are to take specific actions, the police are attempting to obstruct it – clearly in violation of the law, and they do this particularly against the more active segment of our supporters,” Yeprikyan told Tert.am.
The press service of the police told Tert.am that two individuals were taken into custody near Melkumov 11 for failing to comply with a lawful demand of the police, in accordance with Article 182 of the Administrative Offenses Code. An incident report was compiled, and the detainees were released.
