Nikol Pashinyan Receives Secretary of Russia's Security Council Nikolai Patrushev

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The Prime Minister noted that this is the first visit of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation to our country after the political changes in Armenia, and it presents a good opportunity to address pressing issues in Armenian-Russian allied relations through this format.

Pashinyan emphasized that strategic cooperation between Armenia and Russia is developing dynamically, and there is a constructive working atmosphere, as evidenced by frequent meetings with the President and Prime Minister of Russia and interactions at other high levels.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Security Councils of Armenia and Russia in the context of the continuous development of Armenian-Russian strategic ties and joint efforts to ensure regional and international security and stability.

The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia conveyed the greetings of the President and Prime Minister of Russia to Pashinyan and expressed his happiness to visit Armenia and meet with the Prime Minister and the Secretary of the Security Council. He considered the consultations with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia to be effective, during which various areas of cooperation in the field of security were discussed, addressing both bilateral and multilateral formats within the framework of cooperation between Armenia and Russia in international organizations.

Nikolai Patrushev also informed that a gathering of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS member states is scheduled for November this year, and Armenia has confirmed its participation in that gathering as always.

The Prime Minister and the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia exchanged views on the process of settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the maintenance of military balance in the region, the provision of stability, and developments and challenges related to regional and international security.
