Why Residents in Shengavit Destroyed the Playground
Facebook user Suren Galstyan wrote: “This was one of the very few playgrounds available in Yerevan's backyards. No, it wasn't drunk hooligans who broke it, nor the children. It was the building's residents who vandalized it so that children would no longer gather and make noise. Perhaps they were trying to cut off their noise for some intrusive reality show, I don't know... Of course, this isn't a new phenomenon, replacing playgrounds with extensive carports, paying 120,000 drams for car registrations, yet lamenting the loss of a swing set is indeed part of that trend. Nonetheless, I can't reconcile with this scene…”
