The Cause of Stork Pollution Identified

The "Melioracia" LLC conducted cleaning operations of the collector drainage system in the second section of the right bank collector of Hrazdan yesterday. This was stated in a message released by the Water Committee.

The entire length of the network is 6800 meters, but the most polluted section is the open drainage network coming from the Sis community at the intersection of the Sis-Noramarq-Ranchpar communities, where a true waste depot has formed under the bridge. The accumulation of waste is also facilitated by a large-diameter non-functional pipe from the Nairit plant that intersects the drainage.

The dominant waste accumulated includes greasy residues from fish farms, which, by the way, have become a recent curse for the local stork population.

According to the Facebook page of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body, the wastewater coated with a thick layer of food oil in the collector of the Hrazdan River at the intersection of Sis and Noramarq communities in the Ararat province of Armenia is a probable cause of the stork pollution.
