Charges Filed Against Garegin B's Nephew for Assaulting Resident

Charges have been filed against Garegin B's nephew for assaulting a resident of Artashat city who had insulted the Catholicos.

According to "Pastinfo," the incident occurred in October 2018, in Artashat. One of the locals made derogatory remarks about the Catholicos, which led to an argument between him and the nephew. The altercation escalated into a physical struggle, during which violence was inflicted upon the resident.

The forensic examination assessed the injuries sustained by the resident as life-threatening.

The nephew of the Catholicos has been charged under Article 112, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. As a preventive measure, a commitment not to leave was selected.

The prosecutor has confirmed the indictment, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the court.
