Horrific Incident Recorded, Detentions Made
The newspaper 'Past' reports: A horrific incident was recorded recently in the Chknagh River (a tributary of the Dzoraget). A large number of redfin were found dead, floating on the surface and along the banks of the river. According to various sources, this is related to the discharges from a nearby gold mine; however, there is also an opinion that the fish in the river were poisoned by poachers.
According to information from 'Past', serious inspections and heightened patrols have been carried out by law enforcement over the past two days, particularly by the NSS employees, to monitor the situation and fully uncover the causes.
During these days, stringent control measures have been implemented along the entire length of the river to prevent any cases of poaching. According to local rumors, there have also been detentions.
Incidentally, Anush Harutyunyan, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the State Environmental Inspection, confirmed the incident. She noted that the inspectors have taken samples from the fish found in the river, which will be sent for examination. Harutyunyan also stated that the results of the laboratory tests will be known by the end of the week.
