Extraordinary Meeting of Judges Commences in Yerevan
The extraordinary general meeting of judges has commenced on July 11 at the premises of the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts.
The purpose of this general meeting is for judges to elect 3 members from their ranks to the Supreme Judicial Council.
Out of 11 candidates, 3 will be selected by votes cast by the judges. The candidates who have submitted their candidacies for the vacant positions of judicial members in the Supreme Judicial Council include David Balayan, Anahit Tumanyan, Vahe Khalatyan, Gagik Hovhannisyan, Varduhi Hovnanian, Simizar Hovsepyan, Argishti Ghazaryan, Mesrop Makyan, Suren Mnoyan, Ruben Vardazaryan, and Elena Kocharyan.
It is also possible that the meeting will discuss a letter from Constitutional Court Judge Vahe Grigoryan related to the situation at the Constitutional Court, which he sent to the general judges' meeting.
