Physical Assault on Armenian Drivers Near Stepantsminda Village
Armenian drivers were assaulted near Stepantsminda village, close to the Russian-Georgian border checkpoint. According to the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, the incident occurred on a domestic basis.
“Unknown individuals had a dispute with two Armenian drivers transporting wheat and physically attacked them, causing damage to their vehicles. One of the drivers sustained a broken hand and received first aid before being transported to Armenia. His truck is also already in Armenia. The other driver managed to drive his truck by himself after the incident and has also crossed the Georgian-Armenian border,” the statement reads.
The Armenian Embassy in Georgia reported that they have contacted the Georgian law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the incident, which assured that legal action will be taken, and the perpetrators will be punished.
