Tragic Collision in Lori Province Involves GAZ 2110 and VAZ 2101: 1 Dead, 2 Injured

On July 9, a major and tragic car accident occurred in Lori Province. Around 8:00 PM, two vehicles, a GAZ 2410 with license plate 35 DA 961 and a VAZ 2101 with license plate 35 LN 149, collided head-on on the 2nd km stretch of the Spitak-Gyumri highway, near the tunnel entrance.

According to Shamshyan.com, one person died on the spot, and two were transported to the Spitak Medical Center. Emergency services from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived promptly at the scene, including a firefighting unit from Spitak with one combat crew. Rescuers retrieved the deceased from the VAZ 2101 and transferred the body to the ambulance.

A criminal case has been initiated under the second part of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The police and investigative department are working to determine the identity of the deceased, the drivers, and the injured parties.
