Newly Appointed Israeli Ambassador Visits Tsitsernakaberd in Armenia
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Armenia, Eliav Belotserkovsky, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. This was reported by Armenpress.
During the visit, the ambassador toured the memorial grounds with Harutyun Marutyan, the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. Marutyan presented Belotserkovsky with accounts of one of the greatest atrocities of the 20th century, as well as the history of Tsitsernakaberd itself.
While Israel has not yet recognized the Armenian Genocide, discussions on this issue have occurred in the Knesset. There will be a reception in Yerevan to mark the 71st anniversary of Israel's independence, where Ambassador Eliav Belotserkovsky will deliver a welcoming speech.
