Fact: Protests in Alaverdi Will Have a Snowball Effect

According to the newspaper «Fact», recently the workers of the copper smelting plant in Alaverdi blocked all exits and entrances to the factory, as well as the inter-state railway, early in the morning. The reason for the protests is the dismissal of about 200 employees.

The newspaper reported in previous publications that this issue is increasingly gaining a snowball effect. According to the information gathered by «Fact», a serious revolt is brewing in Alaverdi and nearby villages related to the closure of the Alaverdi copper smelting plant and Teghut, and significant developments are expected in the near future.

In particular, one of the paper's sources mentioned that residents have decided to blockade the city's overall logistics system, closing the highway and railway for several days.
