ArmLur.am has received information that tensions have been prevailing since early this morning in the Yeghvard community of Kotayk Province.

According to reports from citizens who alerted us, residents of disadvantaged and disabled families in Yeghvard are being forcibly evacuated from their homes. “A former police employee, Gurgin Zakaryan, has appeared and is trying to terrorize residents into evacuating,” noted one of the citizens.

Meanwhile, the press service of the Police of Armenia informed ArmLur.am that at this moment, police are trying to eliminate the intrusion by other individuals. We have not yet been able to establish contact with Yeghvard Mayor Norair Sargsyan.
