Major Car Accident in Aragatsotn Region: One Fatality

Today, May 8, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 16:20, on the 61st kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, a collision involved a GAZ 24-10 vehicle with license plate 11 SS 947 driven by 53-year-old Vahan Mkhitaryan from Talin and a Mitsubishi vehicle with license plate 026 LT 62 driven by 49-year-old Armen Harutyunyan from the Nor Nork administrative district of Yerevan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, the driver of the GAZ, V. Mkhitaryan, was transported to Talin Medical Center with a diagnosis of "extremely serious" and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries without regaining consciousness. The photojournalist also reported that as a result of the collision, both vehicles struck a ZIL vehicle with license plate 35 GQ 115 that was parked on the permissible section of the road.
