Pedestrian Accident and Crash in Syunik Province: One Dead
On April 24, a tragic incident occurred in Syunik Province. According to Shamshyan.com, around 21:15, 29-year-old Samvel Arzumanyan from the village of Araja Dzhor struck 53-year-old Vardanik Hakobyan from Masis city with his Mercedes vehicle, license plate 97 OQ 997, on the 296 km section of the Yerevan-Kapan highway.
Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reported that the pedestrian died at the scene, while Arzumanyan continued on and collided with another vehicle, a Toyota with license plate 10 AQ 099, which then crashed into a parked Volkswagen with license plate 20 SO 314. Following the incident, Arzumanyan fled the scene.
According to reports from the photojournalist, hours later, Arzumanyan was located by Kapan police and traffic officers and was taken to the Kapan police department. The deceased worked for “Apaven” LLC. He had parked his vehicle and was crossing the street to make purchases when the accident occurred. The driver underwent a sobriety test, which revealed that he was under the influence.
