Hovik Abrahamyan Under Government Scrutiny: 'Hraparak'

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'The day before yesterday, following a closed meeting of the 'My Step' faction, it was announced that investigative committees would be established. The faction leader, Lilit Makunts, did not provide details, only indicating that these committees would pertain to the mining industry, water management, and other areas of public significance.

We have learned that the creation of an investigative committee regarding water management is of 'paramount importance' to the authorities. Recall that in late March, during a discussion of the government program in Parliament, Nikol Pashinyan made a scandalous statement concerning the associations of water users, stating that inspections would be conducted in all water management organizations in the near future.

'We will be conducting inspections everywhere to ascertain who has been stealing; after that, don’t say that you’re filling all the water user associations with prisoners: what kind of practice is this? They sit in their places, steal, eat, and at the end, they come and say, ‘we haven't received our salaries, government, pay us!’ This is the most looted sector; soon we will go after them one by one,' he said.

There are reports that former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan is in the crosshairs of the authorities, and it is not excluded that significant revelations may emerge from the work of this committee.'
