Armenian Prison Head Offered to Submit Resignation but Was Denied

According to the "Zhamanak" newspaper, the operations and revelations carried out by the National Security Service (NSS) in the Armavir penitentiary further confirm our publications, according to which there is a chaotic situation in Armenia's correctional facilities, and the heads of these institutions exploit their positions for commercial purposes.

In response to our publications, there was an attempt to silence us through the initiation of legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the NSS's revelations put everything in its place.

According to our information, following the NSS revelations, Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan and Head of the Penitentiary Service Artemis Akhoyan suggested to the head of the Armavir penitentiary to submit a resignation request, but they received a refusal. The NSS will soon release new videos, this time about the conditions in another penitentiary.
