Turkish Nationalist Figure Denies Genocide and Issues New Threat

A member of the executive council of the nationalist party "Good" (İyi) in Turkey, Tunçay Seydioglu, from the Trabzon province city of Araklı, made posts on his Twitter page regarding the Armenian Genocide.

Seydioglu first denied the existence of genocide and then threatened Armenians with a new genocide. He specifically wrote: “The Armenian Genocide does not exist. However, that does not mean it will not happen. So it would be wise if you remain cautious,” reports Ermenihaber.

In another post, the Turkish figure wrote: “The mob that cannot say ‘there is no genocide’ on April 24 and remains silent about the Khojaly massacre accuses me of spreading hatred. Since when has caution become a crime? Do whatever comes to your hands. Neither courts nor abrupt dismissals will force us to refrain from saying what we believe is right.”

Later, Seydioglu commented to the Turkish news site Odatv, emphasizing that his post was not directed at Armenian citizens living in Turkey, but rather aimed at the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. The nationalist party representative noted that he did not intend to offend Armenian citizens living in various provinces of Turkey. Seydioglu mentioned that he apologizes to Armenian citizens, while at the same time refusing to apologize to the revolutionary figures.
