The Issue of Samvel Babayan in Artsakh is 'Closed': Who Will Compete in the Elections
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that the pre-election buzz has begun in Artsakh ahead of the 2020 presidential elections. In recent days, potential candidates have been opening offices, notably former Prime Minister Araik Harutyunyan and Secretary of the Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan.
According to our sources, Balasanyan's central office in Stepanakert is bustling with activity, but Harutyunyan boasts the largest team and offices. The main competition is expected to unfold between these two candidates.
The issue of Samvel Babayan is considered 'closed' as he seems to have abandoned his intentions regarding constitutional amendments, which would allow individuals not residing in Artsakh to run for office, after staying in the region for about a month.
