Man Attempts to Burn St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan
A man has been arrested in Manhattan for attempting to burn St. Patrick's Cathedral using flammable liquids. This information was reported by the New York Police Department on their Twitter page.
According to reports, the incident occurred on April 17 at 7:55 PM when the man entered the cathedral.
Preliminary information suggests that the 37-year-old man intended to set fire to St. Patrick's Cathedral located in Manhattan. He entered the cathedral with two canisters of gasoline and poured the flammable liquid on the entrance doors of the building.
The police seized containers containing 15 liters of gasoline, as well as two bottles filled with a flammable substance and two lighters. Later, during an interrogation at the police precinct, the man claimed he had no intention of burning the cathedral and had gone there because his car ran out of gas, hoping to find gasoline at the church.
