Russian Border Guards Arrest Pakistani National for Illegal Crossing of Armenian-Turkish Border
Russian Federal Security Service border guards in Armenia have arrested an individual for illegally crossing the Armenian-Turkish border.
According to the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service's border guard department, several days ago, border guards observed a person approaching the Armenian state border from Turkish territory.
The individual crossed the border river Araks, which delineates the state border, and attempted to hide within the territory of the Republic of Armenia. A few minutes later, the border violator was apprehended by the Artashat border detachment.
During interrogation, the individual clarified that he is a citizen of Pakistan and intended to reach EU member countries.
A search revealed a Pakistani passport and a mobile phone in his possession.
Currently, necessary measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances surrounding the incident.
