Zartonk Village Head to Make Announcement on Monday as Residents Await Resignation

The head of Zartonk village in the Armavir region, Paruyr Sargsyan, will make a statement on Monday.

"I will make my announcement on Monday," Sargsyan said to reporters after a meeting with the head of the State Control Service, Davit Sanasaryan.

When asked whether he is preparing to resign, he reiterated, "I will make my announcement on Monday. It is a working day, and I will make my statement in front of the entire community.".

It is noteworthy that today, residents of Zartonk blocked the Yerevan-Gyumri railway, demanding the resignation of village head Paruyr Sargsyan. Gunfire was also reported in the village, resulting in injuries and arrests. Two individuals have been detained on suspicion of hooliganism. Davit Sanasaryan, head of the State Control Service, also visited the village.
