Hovik Abrahamyan at the Defendant's Seat: His Driver Will Go as a 'Victim' if He Doesn't Testify Against Abrahamyan
According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', in August of last year, the Special Investigative Service (SIS) brought charges against former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan in connection with the abuses that took place within 'Avazahatik' LLC, for 'Abuse of Official Powers' and 'Illegal Participation in Entrepreneurial Activities'.
Abrahamyan continues to remain in the status of a defendant, which has been confirmed by the SIS, noting that the preliminary investigation is still ongoing, and they cannot provide further details. However, we have learned that instead of Abrahamyan, his driver Gokor (Grigor Gevorgyan) is now frequently summoned for questioning.
According to the information, the SIS wants to extract testimony from Gokor against Abrahamyan to substantiate the charges against him and imprison him. Otherwise, Gokor himself will go as a 'victim'. The driver of Abrahamyan has expressed dissatisfaction, stating that he is tired of the endless questioning and that the investigators are simply not letting him rest.
