Director and Secretary of Gyumri's Number 27 Secondary School Arrested
Based on a request by the director of the '<em>Gyumri Number 27 Secondary School</em>' State Non-Commercial Organization, the Shirak Regional Investigative Department has gathered factual data regarding the non-teaching of several subjects—including physics, Armenian language, chemistry, and physical education—while salaries were nonetheless disbursed to the respective teachers.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with these events.
In addition, a resident of Gyumri reported that to be appointed as a teacher at the same school, she was required to pay a bribe through the school director and her secretary, in order to secure employment.
Two additional criminal cases have been opened based on these facts.
It has been revealed that the school director, clearly exceeding her authority, collected money from teachers under various pretenses, as well as from parents of students. She demanded bribes in exchange for filling vacant teaching positions, with the secretary also being complicit in these processes.
On March 26, the director of the mentioned school and her secretary were arrested. The school director has been charged for committing the aforementioned criminal acts and has been detained.
The preliminary investigation into the criminal cases is ongoing.
The secretary of Gyumri's Number 27 Secondary School was also arrested on suspicion of facilitating bribery.
