Azerbaijani Ambassador Accused of Stealing Half a Million Dollars and 10 Boxes of Caviar

In the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijani Ambassador Dashgin Shikarov is suspected of embezzling ten boxes of caviar that were sent as a gift from the Azerbaijani government for the ruler of Dubai. This was reported by Haqqin.az.

A special commission working in Abu Dhabi has also determined that half a million dollars has disappeared from the embassy. Shikarov previously served as Azerbaijan's ambassador to Pakistan and Afghanistan and has been appointed as the head of the diplomatic mission in the UAE since January 2016.
